THE WHISPERING HOUSE ON BLACK HOLLOW ROAD
On a cold autumn night, a young man named Daniel was driving through a remote countryside road known as Black Hollow Road. The sky was covered with dark clouds, and a thick fog rolled across the empty fields. His car radio crackled with static as if someone was trying to speak through it.
Daniel had been traveling for hours and was exhausted. Suddenly, he noticed an old wooden sign on the side of the road:
"Black Hollow House – 1 Mile Ahead."
He had never heard of such a place before, but moments later his car engine sputtered and died. No matter how many times he turned the key, the engine refused to start.
With no phone signal and darkness surrounding him, Daniel grabbed a flashlight and began walking.
After nearly twenty minutes, he saw a large Victorian house standing alone on a hill. The building looked abandoned. Its broken windows resembled empty eyes staring into the night. The front gate hung open, swaying slowly despite the complete absence of wind.
Daniel approached cautiously and knocked on the front door.
To his surprise, the door creaked open by itself.
"Hello?" he called.
No answer.
The inside smelled of dust, mold, and something far worse—something rotten.
His flashlight beam swept across the hallway. Old portraits covered the walls. As he walked deeper into the house, he noticed something strange.
The eyes in the paintings seemed to follow him.
Daniel laughed nervously and told himself it was just his imagination.
Then he heard it.
A whisper.
Very faint.
Very close.
"Daniel..."
He froze.
His heart pounded.
No one should know his name.
"Who's there?" he shouted.

A moment later, another whisper drifted through the darkness.
